Leg strength goes a long way in MMA. In order to land great kicks and score more takedowns, you will need to work on your leg strength. Developing strong leg muscles will put you on top of the game. You will be more effective in your sprawls, have more success in your stand ups and ultimately, you will win more matches.
I found a great way to increase my leg strength and quickly too. Most importantly you want to avoid injury and the way to do that is by strength training. It's simple and affordable too!
You can slip on a pair of Weighted shin Sleeves and go about training.
My workout is maximized by the extra weight. But you don't want to just jump into your regular workout.
Body by Science (McGuff) is a great book that teaches you to build strength, but not to mix strength and skills. It can hurt your game, just to slap these on and do your are regular kicks. What you want to do is
do your kicks slowly in a controlled movement. For instance do a round kick, and take 10 seconds to do it. You may only be able to do 5, but the next time you should be able to add more.
You should train to failure once a week. It should take a week to recover. You'll know your recovered if you can do more than you did the previous week.
There is a bit more to the process, but check out our training section for more on this type of training called HIT.
In my opinion, the best are the UFC Weighted Shin Sleeves. UFC is a very established company that has become the standard in MMA gear. I rely on the UFC brand for quality and have been able to find these Weighted shin Sleeves at the best price available.
In addition to being great quality, they are convenient as well. The sleeves pull on over the shin and have top and bottom adjustments so they fit securely and comfortably too.
They are available in small/medium/large/and extra large and come in black with red.
If you want to add that extra edge to your training to get the most out of it and build strong leg muscles, the Weighted shin Guard is for you!
Jon Jones is one of the hottest UFC fighters. He is the youngest fighter to ever hold a UFC title. Though he has other family members that play pro sports, Jon worked hard to get were he is.

Brian and Brandon teach a plethora of grappling skills. They are very good and have a long list of UFC and MMA fighters who have used their program.Below is a list of a few of the techniques you can learn.
This is a technique program. You are going to be learning actual MMA and jiujitsu techniques.
I like this program becuase it is skills based. Any time you improve your skills you'll up your game.
Though fitness is so important, skills training should take up most of your training time.
