In the gym and in the ring, dozens of UFC fighters wear the brand.
Women love a good shirt too! More women than ever are into Mixed
Martial Arts these days and
they love to show it with a nice MMA T-shirt. Sleek and sexy, sloppy or sporty, you will find
them all and in every color imaginable.
Kids tap in to TapouT. They know it's a hot brand that is cool to wear to support the sport
and not only are the teens and tweens wearing them, even the tiny tykes can be found
in teeny TapouT.
So how did the madness all begin? As you might guess, it wasn't your average run-of-the-mill
marketing firm that started this company. Quite the contrary, actually.
When the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) was born in 1993, the tournaments were
all together different than they are today. The fights were brutal and the referees had very
little authority. You truly never knew what might happen during an event.
The events consisted of eight men who
were the best of the best in
various desciplines in all forms of Martial Arts such as Karate, Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing,
Kickboxing, Grappling, Wrestling, Sumo and so on. The object of the tournament was to
find the ultimate fighter and that winner would be deemed the champion.
The tournament had no rules, no time limits and no weight classes
and were fight-to-the finish with no holds barred. UFC fights then became very popular and that is how
it all started.
Royce Gracie, Gerard Gordeau and Ken Shamrock were among the group of fighters at the
UFC debut. Gracie won the tournament via rear naked choke hold on Shamrock.
The MMA rave began an innovative idea of a reality show as well as a
clothing line called TapouT.
The show followed MMA fighters in their quest to be the best. It debuted in June of 2007 on
a show called Versus but quickly earned it's own spot as a weekly reality series.
The crew, Mask (Charles Lewis, Jr.), Punkass (Dan Caldwell) and SkySkrape (Tim Katz)
followed one fighter each week, scouting for fighters to sponsor in the line.
Each show's finale
was an MMA competition fight featuring the contestant of the week.
Mask was killed in a car wreck in March of 2009 and the show disolved but
TapouT apparel and gear remains hugely popular and appears to be unstoppable. Read
more about the story.

Brian and Brandon teach a plethora of grappling skills. They are very good and have a long list of UFC and MMA fighters who have used their program.Below is a list of a few of the techniques you can learn.
This is a technique program. You are going to be learning actual MMA and jiujitsu techniques.
I like this program becuase it is skills based. Any time you improve your skills you'll up your game.
Though fitness is so important, skills training should take up most of your training time.
