Matt Hughes
has joined with Century to make a MMA line including bag gloves.
There
are quite a few bag gloves from Century. I'll take a look at some of
the most popular and tell you what the real scoop is on the gloves.
Century
is a quality brand and the #1 martial arts supplier in the world. They
are working on becoming the #1 MMA equipment supplier now and doing a
good job!
Matt Huges designed
the Century Gold label. As a 9-time MMA Welterweight Champion, he knows
what he is doing. He had the help of Ricardo Liborio, co-owner and head
instructor of American Top Team!
These gloves from century are made for bag work.
In
other articles we talked about how important the leather gloves are for
holding up. They are just miles ahead of vinyl or neoprene.
The leather gloves come in several sizes. You can choose from sizes that help work on your fitness.
They
have a wicking palm that is similar to a dri-fit shirt. This is an open
thumb glove. It is a top of the line glove and retail for $69.99.
CENTURY SPEED GLOVES
Buy at our online Store
Speed bag gloves are actually hard to find. I recommend these gloves as far as quality. You could also look at TITLE Bag Gloves or Everlast. You'll pay more for a good quality Everlast gloves (which are great gloves), but I do feel these gloves compare in the speed bag category.
I do not put all Century gloves up against Everlast, but these I will.
If you do a lot of speed work, this is a glove for you. These gloves are from Century's Silver line designed by Matt Hughes. The gloves are synthetic. The step up from these gloves is the leather glove.
These gloves are the handiwork of
Matt Hughes, 9-time MMA Welterweight Champion and Ricardo Liborio,
World Champion, co-owner and head instructor of American Top Team! They are the exact same as the Gold Standard from Century except they are made of polyurethane.
They come in s/m and m/l.
CENTURY OPEN THUMB BAG
Buy from our online Store
Century offers an economical bag glove. This
is the low end as it is a vinyl glove. It is fine for beginners. We
recommend a heartier glove for serious training. For a child who might
outgrow gloves, for a fitness class, or for light training, this glove
would be great.
These gloves have an open thumb. It has the
pre-curved fingers meant to reduce hand fatigue. This means you do not
have to make a fist, it is made for you in the gloves.
These gloves come in s/m and m/l. They come in a variety of colors: Red, White, Black, Lavender/White, Pink/White or Lime/White.

LIGHT CENTURY BAG GLOVES
This
is a simple glove. It is made of vinyl and is an economy pair of
gloves. That does not mean it is not high quality. It is a nice glove
for the price.
The fingers are not pre-curved, therefore you can
work on your own fist and fitness. One nice feature is the wrist-wrap
which has ample wrist support.
They are also very simple as they are pull on with elastic closure.
These Century bag gloves come in small and large.
Do you need a washable glove? These gloves are similar to the above gloves except they are neoprene and washable!

I wouldn't buy gloves as an adult just so I could wash them, but then again mixed martial artist aren't known for being clean.
If you are looking for a long lasting glove and you are going to workout every day I'd go for a leather glove.

Standard from Century except they are made of polyurethane. This is a
good priced high quality glove. These retail for $49.99
